College Students for Enrichment in Secondary Schools

College Students for Enrichment in Secondary Schools (CSESS) brings Harvard College students and New York area secondary school students together to provide a valuable learning experience for both.

Our short sequence of after-school courses will introduce 6th-10th graders to a broad variety of accessible academic subjects not usually covered before college. We’re not trying to impart mastery so much as to spark interest, to expose students to interesting ideas and new ways of looking at the world.

CSESS also harnesses the knowledge and intellectual enthusiasm of undergraduates at Harvard. By offering them the opportunity to teach their favorite academic topics to students across New York, we promote the idea that a passion for learning is a gift that can and should be shared.
